Cold, but warm hearted

It's ridiculously wintery but the girls are still riding at least 6 days a week. We have four girls riding in lessons and Baihley and Haley ride as much as possible. Baihley didn't ride today but that was a first in about a week. Toby is learning more all the time. We now have Cola and Saffy here. The first thing they did was jump a fence to get to the normal horses. We had put them in the show horse pasture! So Sunday morning early, the two kids and I were out with the bob-cat fixing fence and moving snow piles. Obviously they don't mind climbing large snowpiles to see what's on the other side!

Winter Riding

Winter riding times and lessons are well under way and also cleaning out the horse lots.  They are well used to the bob-cat and people with shovels.

New Horse on the farm

Gizmo and Darla enjoying a fall day.

Her name is Darla. We now have a mare on the farm. She will be the lesson horse. Four of us rode her today in horrible conditions and she did great. She is extremely low-key, like Gizmo, a POA. We love the POA temperment; easy going and easy keepers- translated that means she eats and gets fat and is happy.

Indoor Riding Times for winter weather

Indoor riding times for winter weather are as follows;
Monday- private lessons 4:15-5:30
Tuesday- private lessons 4-5:00
Thursday-private lessons  6:30-7:30
All other times are open for riding; limit of three horses riding in the indoor at a time.  If the weather is good and the footing is firm, the outdoor is always available. We will have lights up in about a week we hope so we can ride outdoors after the sun goes down.

Halloween Party

Sunday Afternoon, Halloween Day, we invited the girls and families out to just have fun. We did a few games, played the four circle, panty hose race, obstacle course, braided mane contest and just let the families enjoy a beautiful day on the farm. I'm sure this is the first of many to come!  We had about 18 people participating, watching and laughing. Thanks to Cathy Overson, the kids all had treat bags to take home.
